Good evening! My name is Michael Capps and I’m an Instructional Content Manager at Discovery Education. Part of my role includes supporting SOS Instructional Strategies for educators and students and shared community stories with content created in Studio.
Let’s dive in to what’s happening at Discovery Education this week!
The biggest news is that tomorrow marks the first day of our DEN VirtCon! Discovery Education Experience partners can register for this completely free, virtual event to connect with other educators around the world. We’re hosting four days of on-demand professional learning and instructional inspiration, plus live community experiences in the evenings.
Here’s what you can expect:
Monday: Go Behind the Scenes of Experience with the Discovery Education Content Team
Tuesday: Prepare Students for the Future of Work with the STEM Careers Coalition
Wednesday: Meet Your Community for Showcase Showdown! Battle of the Best Experience Resources
Thursday: Get Actionable Professional Learning for All Teaching Environments
We always receive amazing feedback from our educators about VirtCon and hope you’ll register to join this exclusive professional learning experience. Share with us which events you’re participating in by using #VirtCon on Twitter!
We also wanted to make sure you know about another new Virtual Field Trip premiering on Tuesday with The Tech Interactive. Students will meet the 2020 Tech for Global Good Laureates – four groundbreaking STEM pros who are rethinking data technology to transform our world for the better. Visit our Curiosity page on discoveryeducation.com to register.
That wraps up our events for this week – check back next Sunday for more!
